Rev. Terry L. Cole

Terry L. Cole was born in Sacramento, California. His journey in the ministry began at Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, receiving his ordination through the California Annual Conference in the early 80’s. His post secondary educational experience was received at Livingston College in Salisbury, NC.

Following the martial union to Edna C. Hill of Miami, Florida in August 1989, he transferred to the South Florida Conference. He received the appointment as an Evangelist under the leadership of Bishop Herman L. Anderson. He was appointed the pastor of Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Church of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1990. In the South Florida District he served as Director of Evangelism, Director of Church Extension and also as a member of the Budget Committee.

Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Birmingham, Alabama received Rev. Terry L. Cole as pastor in October 1998 through the leadership of Bishop Richard Keith Thompson. He served as the Birmingham District’s Director of Evangelism and as a member of the Budget Committee.

In September 2005, Rev. Cole was appointed pastor of Beautiful Zion A.M.E. Zion Church by the presiding prelate of the North Alabama Conference Bishop James E. McCoy. In addition to serving the church he has been appointed the District Director of Evangelism and a member of the District Finance Committee.

Rev. and Mrs. Cole are blessed to have two sons (Christopher and Terrance) and five grandchildren (Seanovin, Destiny, Heaven, Christopher and McKenzie).

The foundation scriptures of his daily walk are: “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thess. 5: 18, and Psalms 91:7 “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”
